Leaving Knapp is a series of artworks that were created in response to numerous drives and visits around the countryside that lies between Dundee and Perth.  Being directly on my doorstep, it's an area that I pass through regularly, but often overlook it as a source of inspiration until one sunny afternoon when I decided to take my sketchbook out for a drive and found myself on the winding roads around Benvie, the hamlet of Knapp, Abernyte and Littleton.  The beautiful lines of the drilled fruit and vegetable fields, the clusters of trees and the picket fences inspired me to create this sequence of artworks.
